Mid-Feb – Cheque Mailing Begins (Distribution 1)
Over 725,000 cheques are being mailed in batches (not at the same time) throughout the month of February 2014. The cheques are sent regular ground mail to the 1998 address or the updated mailing address as provided in September, October, November, December 2013 and January 2014.
Incorrect court file number listed on French letter enclosed with distribution #1 cheque
The cover letter enclosed with the February 2014 cheques inadvertently references the incorrect court file number. The court file number should read 505-06-000006-002 and not 500-05-000373-064. The corrected version of this letter can be read here. Please accept our apologies.
Who is Eligible for a Cheque?
The 15 insurance companies searched all of their 1998 insurance policies to create a list of households eligible for a $50.92 cheque.
This list is used to mail the $50.92 cheques or match change of address data to a 1998 insurance policy on the LIST.
Who will not get a cheque?
Any person/address not on the LIST cannot get a cheque.
Any person who submitted a change of address but for whom we could not find a matching 1998 name/address/insurance policy; cannot get a cheque. A match is required, no exceptions.
We are unable to add to or delete any names from the LIST.
